ABOUT KELLY

Hello and welcome! I'm so happy that you decided to drop by.

My name is Kelly (pronouns: they/them), and I'm a counsellor working on the Unceded Coast Salish territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Musqueam nations (Vancouver). I'm a queer second-generation Chinese immigrant settler, and I was born and raised on amiskwaciy-wâskahikan (Edmonton). My areas of speciality (outlined below) are largely informed by lived experiences, and my journey in counselling began from a desire to see myself and my communities represented in mental health circles.

As a settler with many positions of privilege, I challenge myself to evaluate how I move through the world, and this extends to the work that I do with clients. The process of therapy together will be collaborative, meaning that I will take your lead when exploring what feels right for you and your healing. The time in session is yours and solely dedicated to your journey.

Regarding my approaches to counselling, I work with clients using a feminist, intersectional, and anti-oppressive lens, which means that I'll be attuned to the complexities of your lived experiences and the potential societal and structural influences on your life.

Counselling is not an easy journey, so I admire you for landing here. Together, we can explore ways that you can live the life that you want to live.
